Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather alert for several districts in Odisha, predicting light to moderate rain and thundershowers within the next three hours.
According to the regional centre in Bhubaneswar, the districts likely to be affected include Ganjam, Puri, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Dhenkanal.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to remain vigilant and move to safer places if necessary.
Meanwhile, weather scientist Dr Sharat Chandra Sahu has forecast that the weather will be partially cloudy in the state for the next two days. The wet spell is likely to continue till Friday, especially in coastal Odisha and north and south interior Odisha will experience rain with thunder and lightning
