Malkangiri/Ganjam: In light of the red alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department for Malkangiri and Ganjam districts on Tuesday, the district administrations have announced the closure of all schools and anganwadi centres in the districts. Also, the administration has ordered the suspension of academic activities for the day.

A decision in this regard was taken to avoid any sort of untoward incident due to the heavy to very heavy rainfall alert predicted by the regional weather office. However, the administration has asked the teachers and other staff of the schools to remain present at the school as usual.

As per IMD’s prediction, Malkangiri and Ganjam districts are going to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on Tuesday and the weather department has sounded alert to these districts.
