**Bhubaneswar:** The regional office of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in the city today predicted light rains and thunder showers in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
The IMD issued a warning of thunder squalls accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind reaching 50-60 miles per hour, in a couple of places in these districts.
The forecast for Capital City Bhubaneswar is relatively pleasant with partly cloudy sky over the next 24 hours and mercury levels ranging between 38 degrees and 25 degrees Celcius on Friday and Saturday.
IMD’s forecast came as a welcome relief for people of the State as the heat wave which blanketed Odisha over the past three weeks, finally subsided today evening. Twin City denizens experienced a windy evening bringing down temperatures by 10 degrees after a series scorching days in a row.
