Bhubaneswar: Incessant rainfall across several districts of Odisha has thrown normal life out of gear. However, as per the latest update by the local Meteorological Centre (MeT) Center in Bhubaneswar, there will be a slight respite from rain from September 8.
As updated by MeT Center on its Twitter handle, the intensity of rain may lessen from September 8. However, it will likely make a comeback next week from September 12 as a result intensity of rain may increase.
The weather forecast also predicts that cyclonic circulations will likely trigger heavy rainfall (7-10 cm) in one or two places of interior parts of Odisha while other parts will experience moderate rain showers.
Earlier today in the morning, HR Biswas, the regional head of IMD Centre in the city said, “The monsoon is active in Odisha and several parts of the state have experienced light to moderate rainfall with heavy rainfall in some districts in the last 24 hours.”
“In the next 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall will occur across the State while heavy to very heavy rainfall will likely happen in one or two places of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Bargarh. Heavy rainfall will likely occur in Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts,” he added.
Further, he briefed that from September 9 to 11, some parts of Odisha may experience light to moderate rainfall. However, rainfall activity will likely increase from September 12.
