Rain Predicted Over Odisha For Next 5 Days, Heavy Rainfall At Places

Bhubaneswar: The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over south Odisha adjoining north Andhra Pradesh & neighbourhood has weakened into a Low Pressure Area over south Odisha & adjoining north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and the associated cyclonic circulation now extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD’s) midday weather bulletin issued today.

The IMD has said that under the impact of the Low Pressure Area, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days with heavy spells at many places. The IMD has issued a ‘yellow warning’ for districts likely to receive heavy rainfall.

Here’s IMD’s weather forecast and warning for the districts of Odisha for the next five days:

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 28.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING :-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Angul, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal.
