Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at most places of Odisha with heavy to very heavy spells at some places over the next five days.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 09.07.2022).
Light to Moderate Rain or Thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South Odisha and at many places over the districts of North Odisha.
Orange Warning (Be Prepared): 1 Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati.
Impact and Action Suggested: i) It may trigger landslides in vulnerable hilly areas. ii) It may cause temporary water logging and some damage of kaccha roads.
Yellow Warning (Be updated) 2. Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda.

Light to Moderate Rain or Thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): 1. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Light to Moderate Rain or Thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Kalahandi, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Boudh, Nawarangpur, Bolangir, Bargarh.

In its weather warning for fishermen of Odisha coast, the IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into sea of North-west Bay of Bengal and Odisha coast from July 9 to July 12 under the anticipation of a surge in monsoon current, squally weather with squally wind speed reaching 40-50 gusting to 60 Kmph is likely over North-west Bay of Bengal and Odisha coast.
