Bhubaneswar: The regional center of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here has issued an orange for moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spells of rain in some areas of Kendrapada, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Gajapati districts within the next three hours.
Water logging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility, and traffic disruption in urban areas are likely. The weather office has advised people to avoid movement in the affected areas and make arrangements for excess water drainage.
In addition, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rain/thundershowers in some parts of the remaining districts of Odisha within the next three hours.
People have been advised to watch the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
