Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here has forecast rain and thunderstorm in several Odisha districts on May 18.
According to the weather office, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely at a few places in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Rayagada, and Keonjhar districts and at some places in coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Angul and Deogarh on Thursday.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Nayagarh districts on Thursday. Similarly, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is also very likely to occur at a few places in Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Dhenkanal districts today.
