Bhubaneswar: Here is some good news for Durga Puja revelers in Odisha. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that rains are unlikely to play spoilsport during the Durga Puja festivities this year and sky will largely remain clear this week.
In its weather outlook for the fortnight, the IMD said overall rainfall activity is expected to be below normal during the Durga Puja.
The possibility of heavy rainfall is very less in the state but some isolated places may experience light to moderate rain between October 4 and 10. Some places in Odisha may also get light to moderate rainfall from October 11 to 17.
At the same time, the weather office said that a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal close to Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts between October 11 and 17, it is unlikely to trigger widespread rains.
Meanwhile, there has been heavy rain over a vast area from Aska in Ganjam to Cuttack on Sunday. Some rainfall is likely at different places on Monday.
