Bhubaneswar: The monsoon trough has made a southward shift towards the Bay of Bengal under its influence rainfall activity is likely to be normal, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar Director HR Biswas here today.
In the next 24 hours, rainfall is likely to occur in many places in all districts across Odisha, he added.
Biswas warned that heavy rainfall is expected in some places mainly in the interior districts of Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur over one or two places in Puri district, he added.
Similar weather conditions will prevail for the second consecutive day and on the third-day rainfall activity is likely to decrease a little, Biswas stated and added that again from July 2-3 rainfall activity is expected to increase.
“In the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack the sky will remain generally cloudy with chances of one-two spells of thunderstorm accompanied by rainfall and lightning,” the weatherman pointed out.
