Baripada: The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate of Rairangpur, Smaranika Pradhan was killed in a road accident near Jashipur today afternoon. Pradhan along with her husband were travelling to her native in Krushnaprasad block of Puri district.
The couple driving an SUV met with an accident near Chainanepta when the vehicle rammed into an electric pole. According to reports, the SUV turned turtle due to the impact and Pradhan remained under it, which led to her death.
Her husband, who was driving the SUV sustained serious injuries and has been shifted to a hospital. The duo was travelling to Puri from where they had plans to attend the installation ceremony of a temple at their village.
Pradhan was serving as Rairangpur SDJM for the last one and a half years. Local police have registered a case in this connection and investigating further.
