Bhubaneswar: Defence Minister and veteran BJP leader Rajnath Singh on Thursday exuded confidence in forming a double-engine government in Odisha.

Holding separate political rallies at three places– Nabarangpur, Berhampur and Baripada, Singh said that people of Odisha are well prepared to give a clear mandate to BJP both in Centre and State.

“There should be a double-engine government in Odisha too to make the State a developed one. The BJP is the only party which fulfil its promises,” he said while addressing a massive rally in Nabarangpur.

The union minister also advised his party workers to make people aware about Modi’s message.

He said “I have an emotional connection with Odisha. During the Congress government, I started the ‘Bharat Surakhya Yatra’ from Odisha. During that time, Naxalism and terrorism were everywhere. Now, the situation has changed.”

Coming down on the Congress party, Rajnath said that it deceived the countrymen for a long time. Congress has cheated especially the poor people. When Modi came to power, he took 25 crore people out of poverty, he added.

In Berhampur, Singh also reiterated his confidence in forming a double-engine government.

“No one can stop us from forming a double-engine government in Odisha. UPA has always treated Odisha like a stepmother. The Congress government had not done anything for the development of Odisha. During the Congress, the foundation stones of big projects were only laid, but the projects were inaugurated,” Singh addressed the rally in Berhampur.

“The Prime Minister said that we will secure more than 400 seats this time. It is the responsibility of all of us to achieve the mission,” the union minister said.

“We will get success not only in the Lok Sabha but also in the Assembly elections in Odisha. We will form the government here”, Singh pointed out.

He also highlighted Modi’s contribution to the State and Country in Baripada in Mayurbhanj.

“People have set their mind to form double-engine government. Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister again for the third consecutive term,” he said.

Our tribal sister became the President of India only after Modi came, Rajnath said referring to President Droupadi Murmu who is from the Mayurbhanj district.
