Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh targeted the ruling BJD and Congress while campaigning in Odisha’s Rairakhol on Sunday.
Addressing a large gathering, Singh alleged that Congress ruled Odisha for 50 years and BJD for 25 years. However, there has been little development in the state during these 75 years. “While poverty prevails in Odisha, several important documents, manuscripts, and culture have been lost. I have been told that even the keys of Puri Jagannath temple’s Ratna Bhandar are also missing,” he said.
“On the other hand, India has touched new heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India was ignored by the world earlier, but things have changed during the last 10 years. Modi Ji ensured the safe return of Indian citizens and students from Russia and Ukraine amid the war there. The warring nations halted the war for 4.5 hours to facilitate the evacuation of the Indians,” he said.
He added, “BJP has delivered whatever it has promised – be it the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, or implementing the CAA,” the Defence Minister claimed.
Prime Minister Modi is committed to working for the uplift of the poor. He has provided them with pucca houses, cooking gas, toilets, and other facilities, the BJP government has been continuously working to uplift the lot of the poor and backward classes and transform their lives, Singh said while urging people to vote for the BJP both at the Centre and the state Assembly.
