Rakhis Made Of Flowers Hit Balasore Market As Buyers Boycott Chinese Products

Balasore: As majority of Indian consumers are boycotting Chinese products including rakhi or any rakhi-related product and as the coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on the market, few youths from Balasore district of Odisha have brought an alternative.

On this Raksha Bandhan festival, Rakhis made of roses and other flowers are gaining popularity among customers. The youths who have lost their livelihoods due the pandemic have become self-reliant and are making such rakhis by collecting the flowers from different localities.

As these rakhis are available at lower prices and with rising anti-Chinese sentiment because of the bitterness of India-China border this year, people are reluctant to buy Chinese rakhis which have helped the youths in their business.
