Bhubaneswar: A youth died after his motorbike collided head-on with the car in which popular opera (jatra) artist Rani Panda was travelling. The deceased has been identified as Sukant Behera, a native of Rajanagar village under Athagarh police limits of Cuttack district.
Reportedly, Panda was on her way to Dudurkote village in Dhenkanal district to perform at an opera when the accident occurred at Dalkhai square on Mundali-Athagarh road on Friday night. Seriously injured Behera was rushed to the SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack where he breathed his last today morning.
Panda’s vehicle was also damaged in the accident. On getting information, Athagarh Police rushed to the spot. Panda and the driver was taken to Athagarh Police Station for further questioning in connection with the incident.
