Bhubaneswar: The first coordination committee meeting will be held today for the Rath Yatra 2025, scheduled to be held on June 27.
The meeting, scheduled to take place at Puri Town Hall, will be chaired by the Central Revenue Commissioner.
With just a few months to go until the Rath Yatra, the Puri district administration, police, and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) are working tirelessly to prepare for the grand festival. All departments have kicked off their preparations, making necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful celebration.
As per reports, the administration anticipates a larger turnout of devotees for this year’s Rath Yatra compared to the previous year. The meeting will focus on key aspects such as the procurement of chariot wood, the construction of the chariots, and other logistical arrangements.
Besides, the coordination committee will discuss water supply, drains and sewerage facilities, supply of continuous power and all other requisite preparedness for the ensuing Rath Yatra.
The meeting will be attended by key officials, including the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and servitors. Together, they will work out the details to ensure a successful and seamless Rath Yatra celebration.
