Bhubaneswar: The inner chamber of Ratna Bhandar will be reopened on July 18, informed justice Biswanath Rath, chairman of the Ratna Bhandar inventorisation committee following an emergency meeting on Tuesday.
“The inner chamber of the treasure trove will reopen on Thursday as it cannot be opened tomorrow due to Suna Besha. And an auspicious time has been chosen for its reopening. The inner treasure trove door will be opened between 9:51 am and 12:15 pm. The process of shifting valuables will take place once the inner chamber is reopened. During this time, attention will be paid to ensure that there are no obstacles in the way of the rituals.”
Rath further said, “When the Ratna Bhandar will be opened on Thursday, devotees will not be allowed to enter the temple. Only authorized servants and individuals who have been granted permission to enter the treasure trove will be allowed to enter during this time. This restriction is in place to ensure the safety and security of the treasure trove and its contents.”
It is pertinent to mention that The ‘Ratna Bhandar’ was opened in the presence of former Orissa High Court judge Biswanath Rath, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the chief administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), DB Gadanayak, superintendent of the ASI, and a representative of the titular king, Gajapati Maharaja of Puri.
