Bhubaneswar: Srimandir Ratna Bhandar is most likely to be opened on July 14, said Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Thursday.
According to sources, the Srimandir Managing Committee has submitted a proposal to the Odisha government to open the Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar on July 14 following the recommendation of a high-level committee.
Talking to the media, the Law Minister said, “The Ratna Bhandar will be opened on the date fixed by the committee. The management committee has approved the recommendation of the committee and sent it to the government. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) prepared by them will be properly verified. If everything is in order, the Ratna Bhandar will be opened on the scheduled date, as announced by the inspection committee. It is likely to be opened on the same date.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Ratna Bhandar Inspection Committee, in its second meeting on July 9, fixed July 14 as the date for opening the Ratna Bhandar. The committee chairman, Justice Biswanath Rath, said that the only thing pending is the approval of the government. The committee has already recommended opening the Ratna Bhandar on July 14, and now it’s up to the government to give its nod.
The 16-member Committee had discussed the Ratna Bhandar Opening on July 9 and prepared the SOP in this regard. The Committee has proposed the government to open the treasury on July 14 for both inventory and conservation works.
