Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has sent the proposal of the 16-member high-level committee to the government for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove) on July 14.
Speaking to reporters, SJTA chief administrator Vir Vikram Yadav said that the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee has approved the proposal of the 16-member high-level committee headed by Justice Biswanath Rath, which was sent to the government.
“The committee also suggested the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar. Some more suggestions have been added to it. The proposal was sent to the government for approval,” the SJTA chief added.
Steps will be taken as per the decision of the state government, he said.
The 16-member Committee had discussed the Ratna Bhandar Opening on July 9 and prepared the SOP in this regard. The Committee has proposed the government to open the treasury on July 14 for both inventory and conservation works.
The ornaments of the trinity inside the trove will be shifted to a makeshift Ratna Bahndar that the SJTA will set up.
