Bhubaneswar: An Assistant Professor of the Odia Department at Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, has landed in trouble after the Collector filed a complaint against her at the Lalbag police station.

The complaint alleges that Dash forged the Collector’s signature to avail leave during the 2019 general elections.

According to reports, Assistant Professor Bijayalakshmi Dash applied for leave in 2019. Since the code of conduct was in place for the elections, the university authorities asked Bijayalakshmi to get permission from the Collector as he is the District Election Officer.

Instead of obtaining permission from the Collector cum District Election Officer, she allegedly forged the signature. The forgery went undetected for five years until the file was reopened.

The current District Collector of Cuttack, Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, filed the complaint against Dash after verifying the forged signature.
