Ravenshaw Varsity Edu Dept Turns 75, Odisha Guv Inaugurates National Seminar On Quality Higher Education

**Cuttack**: It was a nostalgic day for the Ravenshaw alumni as the historic university’s Education Department celebrated its ‘Hirak Jayanti’ (diamond jubilee) today morning at Seven Pillars Of Wisdom conference hall here. In light of this occasion, a two-day national seminar on ‘Quality Assurance in Higher Education’ was also kick-started at the venue.

Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal inaugurated the celebration with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and felicitated the illustrious teachers of the alma mater. Six professors were awarded certificates by the Governor for their tremendous hard work and dedication behind making the institution a legend.

‘Ravenshaw Pragnya’ a book on the university’s memoirs was also inaugurated by the Governor.

Department Chief Sudarshan Mishra provided a brief summary and background on the Education Department’s legacy.

Then the event took a nostalgic turn as members from Ravenshaw University Education Department Alumni Association (RUEDAA) shared their success stories with the audience. Chairman of the association, Yudhisthir Khatua took the lead in this part of the event.

In the afternoon session, the national seminar on ‘Quality Assurance in Higher Education’ was kick-started. The symposium that aims at improving education quality throughout India was attended by renowned research scholars from different parts of the country.

The first day of the event concluded with a vote of thanks from RUEDAA’s Head of Department Siddharth Rath.
