Bhubaneswar: Registrar of Ravenshaw University has sought deployment of adequate number of police personnel inside the University Campus as well as at the entry points so as to maintain law and order situation in the campus.
The Registrar has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack in this connection.
“……, it is requested to kindly take necessary steps to deploy adequate number of police personnel inside the University Campus as well as at the entry points so as to maintain law and order situation in the campus of Ravenshaw University,” reads the letter written by the Registrar.
The Registrar has informed the DCP, Cuttack that Ravenshaw University Campus is witnessing some protesting campaigns organized mostly by outsiders (non-students) from September 1 and as a result the University Campus is tensed and situation is getting aggravated gradually day by day.
In the letter the Registrar has further informed that there are 3000 boarders (boys and girls) staying in different hostels and the families of both teaching and non-teaching staff are also residing inside the campus.
“It is felt that this tense situation is becoming untenable and needs immediate action for bringing normalcy in the campus. To restore Academic peace and tranquility inside the Campus, deployment of police personnel is highly essential round the clock,” the Registrar has pointed out in the letter.
