**Bhubaneswar: ** Odisha Government on Friday informed that it has formed a three-member team at each panchayat level to identify bona fide chit fund investors from the villages to refund their duped deposits.
A video conferencing was held at the State Secretariat here on the day and the Chief Secretary held discussion with all the District Collectors and SPs to identify the genuinely duped depositors.
Briefing media soon after the video-conferencing, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi said, “The District Collectors and SPs were on video-conferencing with us today. They have been asked to verify the claims sent to them. The verification will be made by a three-member team comprising police official (ASI), RI or Amin and Panchayati Raj staff (a block level Extension Officer). They will verify at the panchayat level if the claims are genuine or not. After verification, we will be depositing the amount. It’ll take time depending on the verification process. Commission has given us about 12,000 names while court has provided us with 3.93 lakh names.”
Finance Secretary Tuhin Kant Pandey informed, “Field verification is on. The Chief Secretary reviewed today. Two types of cases are there. In Rose Valley case, there are 3 lakhs 93 thousands and 881 claims. As per the Justice M.M. Das Commission of Enquiry into small depositors, 12, 179 cases are there. District wise team formation has been made. The 3-member team are verifying in the villages. Directive has been issued to record the verification process either by videography or CCTV so that transparency is maintained. We have also issued media advertisement provided with a toll free number to check such corruptions in future. The aggrieved person can also send email.”
