Rayagada: In a dramatic rescue operation, Fire Service personnel from Kolnara, supported by Chandili police, successfully rescued a youth who had climbed a mobile phone tower behind the Sadar Jagannath temple allegedly in an attempt to end his life.
The operation lasted nearly two hours and involved extensive persuasion and tireless efforts from the rescuers.
The youth, identified as Bhimsen Thakur from the Champa area of neighboring Chhattisgarh, ascended the tower under Chandili police limits, attracting the attention of local authorities and residents.
Prompt action from the Fire Service team and police officials prevented a potential tragedy. The coordinated rescue effort highlighted the diligence and commitment of emergency responders in handling high-risk situations.
Though authorities have not disclosed further details on the reasons behind the incident but have ensured that the youth will receive appropriate care and counseling following the rescue.
