Re-Opening Of Odisha Temples Raised In Assembly

Bhubaneswar: The members of Opposition today raised the issue of re-opening of temples in the ongoing winter session of Odisha Assembly as they have been closed till date since the imposition of nationwide lockdown in March this year.

The members of Opposition demanded that all the temples along with Puri Srimandir should be re-opened now.

Senior Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati today urged Speaker Surya Narayan Patro with folded hands.

He demanded that all the temples across the State should be opened within 24 hours as the sebayats and priests are in distress and their livelihood is in deep trouble.

He demanded the Speaker’s ruling on this issue.

Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi also expressed his same sentiment. He argued that even Maharashtra has re-opened temple despite being in the top of Covid hot spot list.
