Bhubaneswar: As if coming out of the recent Indian movie ‘Why Cheat India’, four persons of an exam cheating gang were arrested by Commissionerate Police on Sunday.
Reportedly, a youth identified as Adrasha Chaudhry alias Ruckey was apprehended while impersonating one Yudhistir Mallick in the entrance test for admission to OUAT, Bhubaneswar being held at Saraswati Sisu Vidyamandir, Dharmavihar.
Based on a complaint by the Centre Superintendent, Pradhan Acharya Sasibhusan Dash, police registered a case and during course of investigation found that Yudhistir had taken the help of a marketing staff of NMIET identified as Ranjit Kumar Beura, who had hatched the plan with one of his colleague Amit Kumar Singh.
They both connived with Amiya Bhusan alias Ajaya Saran of Bihar and arranged the candidate Adrasha, a resident of Nualgarh in Sikar district of Rajastan and agreed to take five lakhs cash for committing the crime.
After arriving at Bhubaneswar by flight, they were residing at a guest house in Ghatikia, from where they were arrested on Sunday and court forwarded today.
Police also seized admit card and Aadhar card of Yudhistir along with five mobile phones and sim cards from their possession. Further investigation is under progress including involvement of any other persons and racket.
