Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating the emergence of a cyclonic circulation over the north Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. This system is identified as the remnant of Tropical Cyclone Wipha. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the same region within the subsequent 48 hours.
This has been tweeted by IMD scientist Umasankar Das. Taking to his X handle, he wrote: “A cyclonic circulation (Remnant of Tropical Cyclone #Wipha) is likely to emerge over north #BayofBengal during next #24hours. Under its influence, a #LowPressure area is likely to form over the same region in the subsequent #48hours.”
The IMD has alerted that the cyclonic circulation is likely to bring about significant changes in the weather pattern over the Bay of Bengal.
