Paradip: The representatives of three panchayats—Dhinkia, Nuagaon and Gadakujunga under Ersama block of Jagatsinghpur district—visited JSW Vijayanagar plant to celebrate the 76th Independence Day with the Managing Director of JSW Steel Sajjan Jindal and Chairperson of the JSW Foundation Sangita Jindal on August 15.
A team of 29 members started their journey on August 14 from Bhubaneswar to JSW Vijayanagar Works and returned on August 16. The team was led by Dhinkia Sarpanch Kishore Parida, Nuagaon Panchayat Sarpanch Suchitra Mohanty and Gadakujunga Panchayat Sarpanch Kavitha Das.
The team was also joined by company officials like Dabindar Sanga, Senior Officer-Security and Administrative Department, Subash Parida and Abhijit Mohanty, Senior Officer of the JUSL.
On their visit, they got a chance to have first-hand experience of steel making in the plant. They interacted with Mr and Mrs Jindal and also presented idols of the chief deities of Odisha Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra to mark the momentous celebration on 76th Independence Day.
Sajjan Jindal and Sangita Jindal expressed their joy after interacting with Odisha people. Mrs Jindal said, “I am so happy to meet people from coastal Odisha at Vijaynagar on the auspicious occasion of our Independence Day.”
Kavitha Das thanked the company for organizing an exposure trip. “The experience was amazing. We witnessed the first-hand experience of steel making periphery development. We hope that same development would take in Paradip as well.”
