Boudh: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, a reserve constable was arrested for allegedly carrying 10.7 kilograms of ganja at Barakuda Chhak under the jurisdiction of Model Police Station, police said on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Nidhi Sahoo, who was serving as a reserve constable at Balasingh. He was intercepted by Boudh police while traveling from Chhatapur to Boudh, and the contraband was recovered from his vehicle. His motorcycle has also been seized, and he has been forwarded to court for further legal action.
Boudh Superintendent of Police Rahul Goel said the arrest is part of a strict drive against drugs under the Odisha DGP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Odisha’ (Drug-Free Odisha) initiative.
“We will not tolerate involvement in drug offenses, whether by citizens or police personnel. Strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the law,” he added.
