Bhubaneswar: After reeling under temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius for over three months, the rains have finally blessed the people in the State. Providing much needed relief from heat and sweat, moderate showers occurred in several districts across Odisha and people woke up to a pleasant morning on Friday.
Light to moderate rain is likely to continue in Puri, Khorda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapara and Bargarh.
As per the forecast by Regional Meteorological department on Thursday, a low pressure area is very likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around 30th June which is likely to become more marked subsequently.
On June 29, heavy rain fall is likely in Koraput, Nawarangpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Sundergarh and Deogarh.
On June 30, heavy rain fall is likely to occur over Puri, Khurdha, Jagatsingpur, Cuttak, Nayagarh, Kandamal, Ganjam, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur , Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Koraput and Kalahandi.
On June 1, heavy rain fall is likely in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Angul, Boudh, Deogarh and Sambalpur, as well as Jagatsingpur, Puri, Ganjam, Khurdha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Koraput and Jharsuguda.
Fishermen have also been advised not to venture into sea from 30th June to 1st July and those in deep sea have been advised to return to coast by 29th June night.
