Rayagada: Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Jayadeep Gupta and all senior officers of Sambalpur Railway Division are overlooking the restoration work on the flood-hit track on Daikalu-Ambadola section of Rayagada-Titlagarh line.

Restoration efforts have got hampered on the site as water is overflowing on the tracks due to unrelenting rain. It may take longer to get the track fit as it is not possible to put Cinder/Mud/Sand as it will also get washed away.

Traffic restoration may take extra time now. It is estimated that train operations will be normalized late in the night or by early morning tomorrow. The DRM and other officials will remain at site till restoration or normalization of traffic.

Train operations have been affected on the route after flood water washed away soil and ballast below over 100 metres length of the track. One loaded Goods Train going to Vedanta Siding in Ambadola Railway Station has been badly affected as out of 59 wagons, three wagons have got derailed at site due to the massive floods.
