Puri: The restriction-free darshan at Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri started from Thursday. The devotees do not have to produce COVID-19 negative reports or identity proof to enter the temple from today onwards.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra was present at Jagannath Temple and took stock of the situation. The overall arrangements were good and devotees were disciplined and followed COVID protocols while entering the temple for darshan, reports stated.
On the first day of restriction-free darshan, around 35,000 devotees came for darshan to the Srimandir. According to an estimate, there be a good footfall of devotees for the next two to three days at the shrine.
As per the current arrangement, the temple will be closed on Sundays for sanitisation.
