Bhubaneswar: A former Forest Range Officer (Retired) of Samantiapalli Forest Range under Berhampur forest division in Ganjam was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment in a corruption case.
A special vigilance court in Berhampur also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Bijay Kumar Mohanty.
Mohanty was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
The anti-graft agency will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of pension of Mohanty following his conviction.
