Bhubaneswar: Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack on Thursday sentenced retired Principal of Biraja Sanskrit Mahavidyalay Surendranath Mishra to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for a period of two years and fine of Rs 5,000 for demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant for issuance of College Leaving Certificate (CLC), said an official press release.
The court further ruled that in default of payment of fine convicted ex-Principal Mishra to undergo further RI for a period of six months more for the offence under sections 13(2) READ WITH 13(1)(D) and 7 of the PC Act, 1988, the release added.
The release further said that Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of ex-Principal Mishra following his conviction.
