Bhubaneswar: A special vigilance court in Cuttack on Wednesday sentenced two years of rigorous imprisonment to Rabinarayan Behura, former manager (Retired) of Kalarahangi Mines in Sukinda for possession of disproportionate assets.
The special Judge also directed him to pay Rs 50,000 fine. He would undergo further rigorous imprisonment for six months more in default of payment of the fine.
Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of pension of Behura following his conviction.
The vigilance had arrested Behura in 2015 for possessing disproportionate assets under sections 13(2) r/w 13(1) (e) of PC Act, 1988.
