Bhubaneswar: The Court of Special Judge, Special Court, Cuttack today sentenced retired Soil Conservation Officer of Koraput Rama Chandra Behura to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for two years after convicting him in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The Court also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on Behura. On default to pay the fine, the Court ordered Behura to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a further period of six months.
The Court convicted Behura for the offence under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Behura was charge sheeted by the Odisha Vigilance for possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 1,06,894 to his known sources of income in a Vigilance case of February 12, 1993.
