Cuttack: A Vigilance Court in Cuttack on Wednesday sentenced retired VLW-cum-PEO of Rajkanika block in Kendrapara district Sudhakar Pradhan to four years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fine after convicting him in a bribery case.
As per an official press release, Pradhan was earlier charge sheeted by by Odisha Vigilance under sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant to process the file for release of security deposit relating to construction of step of temple and changing room.,
Further, convict Pradhan, Ex-VLW-cum-PEO (Retired) was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Pradhan following his conviction.
