Koraput: The murders of two youths in Odisha’s Koraput district on Wednesday have sent shockwaves through the region. The two murders took place in Kunduli Hatpadar village under Pattangi police limits of Koraput.
According to reports, while a youth from Tema village was returning from Hatpadar village after witnessing the Ravan Podi on Wednesday morning, he had an altercation with a person at Hatapadar. The situation turned ugly when the man attacked him with sharp weapons killing him on the spot.
On receiving the news of his death, the family of the deceased reached the spot in Hatapadar and assaulted the killer to avenge the death of their village youth. The man from Tema also died in the attack.
On being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the two bodies, and sent them for post-mortem. While the precise reason behind the two murders is yet to be ascertained, police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, a police party has been deployed in Hatapadar as tension prevailed after the gory incidents.
