Jeypore: A senior revenue assistant was found hanging in her official quarters at Baipariguda block colony here in Koraput district.
It is suspected that Sandhyarani Nayak committed suicide by hanging herself with a stole in her room.
She was staying alone in the quarters. Her room had remained closed since the Dussehra. Sensing trouble, locals informed police after foul odors came out of her house.
A team of police led by Baipariguda IIC Susant Satpathy reached the spot and broke open the door only to find the hanging body.
The cause of the suicide remains unclear. Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
