Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has suspended Bipin Kumar Pradhan, Tahsildar of Padmapur in Bargarh district, following allegations of corruption, Revenue Department informed on Thursday.
The District Collector’s report led to the suspension order, triggering departmental action against the officer.
During suspension, his headquarters is set to RDC (ND), Sambalpur, and he cannot leave without prior permission.
“The Governor of Odisha, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-rule (1) of Rule-12 of OCS (CC&A) Rules, 1962 hereby places the said Sri Bipin Kumar Pradhan, OAS-A(JB), Tahasildar, Padampur, Dist.- Bargarh under suspension with immediate effect”, read the office order released from Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
It further read: “It is further ordered that during the period of suspension, the headquarters of Sri Bipin Kumar Pradhan, OAS-A(JB), Tahasildar, Padampur, Dist.- Bargarh shall be at RDC (ND), Sambalpur and the said Sri Pradhan shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining the prior permission of the RDC (ND), Sambalpur and he shall be entitled to the payment of subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule-90 of Odisha Service Code till further orders.”
Recently, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari has warned that no form of corruption will be tolerated in the revenue department. Besides, Revenue Secretary Dr Arabinda Padhee had recently directed all offices of the department to maintain zero tolerance against corruption.
