Revenue Minister Pujari Accuses BJD Of Instigating Ministerial Staff Agitation

Bhubaneswar: Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Saturday alleged that the ongoing strike by ministerial employees of the Revenue Department is being instigated by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) to create unrest and harass the government.

Speaking to reporters, Pujari said that a section of leaders within the Revenue Ministerial Employees’ Association, influenced by BJD, are misleading workers and steering the agitation away from genuine issues. He described the unrest as a “family matter” that requires time for resolution, assuring that cadre restructuring is in its final stage and will be carried out within the legal framework.

The minister accused the previous BJD government of leaving behind numerous unresolved problems and claimed that certain association leaders are still acting at the behest of BJD figures. “Some people are unable to accept their loss of power and are trying to destabilize the present government by misguiding employees,” he remarked, adding that the government is committed to staying firm.

Pujari urged employees not to fall prey to political influence and return to work to prevent inconvenience to the public. He noted that several employees across districts have expressed dissatisfaction with their association leaders and are likely to resume duty on Monday.

The minister also issued a warning, stating that while the government has so far refrained from strict action, it has ample measures to discipline employees who continue to defy and malign the administration. “If they do not comply, they will face consequences they cannot handle,” he cautioned.
