Revolutionizing Education: Rs 529.56 Crore Committed to Enhance School Infrastructure

Bhubaneswar: The high schools that have undergone transformation under Odisha’s 5T High School Transformation Programme are delivering exemplary results.

Be it the increased participation of the students at national level sports and debate competitions or developed interest in exploring the newer world of coding, the programme has given wings to the cognitive skills and athletic spirit of the blooming minds.

Taking the legacy ahead, the state government has decided to transform all high schools of the state by December 2023 with modern infra and advanced facilities.

Chairing the 40th Executive Council meeting of Mo School Abhiyan, Aswathy S, Commissioner-cum-Secretary stressed on the completion of 4th phase High School Transformation Programme before the proposed deadline.

After the successful implementation of 1st, 2nd& 3rd phase High School Transformation Programme, the 4th phase HSTP will witness the transformation of more than 1500 high schools of Odisha.

This will ensure that all high schools in the state are equipped with new smart classrooms, well-developed e-libraries, state-of-the-art laboratory-cum-interactive science centres, advanced sports infrastructure and child-friendly campuses.

The 40th Executive Council meet also took stock of the implementation of School Clubs in all in all government high schools of the stateand held discussion on development of Programme Framework for all club activities.

Mo School Abhiyan will organize consultation meetings with its stakeholders and expert organizations to develop materials and framework for Kaushali, Kridangan, Jigyansa and Sahitya Srujani clubs.

Proposals worth ₹529.56 crores of 30 districts have been approved in the Executive Council. Within the last month, a total of 7,358 alumni have joined hands with Mo School Abhiyan and have contributed ₹6.66crores for the development of their alma mater.

Mo School Abhiyan has received grants worth ₹165.05crore from various CSR funds. Coupled with the donors’ contribution, CSR funds and a 2X matching grant from the state govt., the Executive Council has approved projects worth 529.56 crores which will be availed in the development of the 2402 primary, upper primary and high schools across the state.

The alumni have contributed ₹2.04crore in Balasore, ₹60 lakhs in Ganjam, ₹48.13 lakhs in Cuttack, ₹47.43 lakhs in Bolangir and ₹38.87 lakhs in Bhadrak districts respectively. Till date, 7.90 lakh alumni members have contributed financially under Mo School Abhiyan.

Among others Additional Secretary, S&ME Dept., Financial Advisor, S&ME Dept., Director, Secondary Education, Director, Elementary Education, Director, TE & SCERT and OSD, Mo School were present in the meeting.
