Balasore: Odisha Vigilance officials today apprehended Revenue Inspector (RI) of Baincha RI Circle under Sadar Tahasil of Balasore district Dolly Sethy while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person (complainant) for submitting the field enquiry report of his deceased minor son who had died due drowning in a village pond on April 12, this year, for sanction of death compensation of Rs 4 lakh in favour of the latter.
The entire bribe money was recovered from her possession of Sethy and seized. Following the seizure, Vigilance launched simultaneous searches at two locations connected with the accused.
Vigilance has registered a case against Sethy under section 7 of the PC Amendment Act of 2018 and further investigation is in progress.
