Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today apprehended a Revenue Inspector (RI) for allegedly accepting bribe from a person to submit the enquiry report to Tahasildar.
Pradeep Kumar Gouda, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Gangapur under Belaguntha Tahasil in Ganjam was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 7000 from a person to submit the enquiry report to Tahasildar in connection with the valuation of the existing structure on a land.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of the accused and seized, vigilance said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of the accused RI from DA angle.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance registered a case U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018. An investigation is in progress against the RI.
