Nuapada/Sundargarh: As many as four persons died and 35 others sustained injuries in two separate road mishaps In Nuapada and Sundergarh districts on Monday morning.
As per reports four persons were killed and two sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in hit a tractor near Lachhipur on Khaial-Bhawanipatna Road in Nuapada district, on early Monday morning.
All the deceased have been identified as Rishi Sahu, Subham Mahauti, Debendra Lala and Debraj Patel.
The accident took place when Rishi along with friends were going to attend a birthday party at Tukula. The injured, however, were travelling in the tractor. They were rushed to Khadial Sub-Divisional Hospital and are undergoing treatment there.
Acting on a tip-off, Khadiad police reached the spot and seized the bodies.
In a separate accident, as many as 33 passengers received injuries when the bus they were travelling in hit a divider after losing its balance at Tamada Ghati In Sundargarh district, on Monday.
The accident took place due to brake failure. The bus driver is reported to have lost balance over steering due to brake failure and hit a divider causing injury to 3o persons at Tamada Ghati. The injured were rushed to Gurundia Hospital. The condition of a few passengers is stated to be critical. Those who have sustained severe injuries were taken to Rourkela Hospital for better treatment.
The bus was on its way from Gundia to Rourkela when the mishap occurred.
Gurundia police, meanwhile, seized the bus and began an investigation into it.
