Cuttack: A youth attacked a girl over an one-sided love affair in Pratap Nagari area here on Tuesday. The girl, an engineering student, sustained severe injuries as her right arm was slit which led to profuse bleeding.
The girl was rushed to a local medical centre where she was administered several stitches. The condition of the victim is said to be stable. The incident triggered angry reactions from local residents.
According to reports, a youth belonging to the same area as the victim, in Ward No. 58 under Cuttack Sadar police limits, was involved in a one-sided love affair with her.
Today afternoon when the girl was returning from college, the miscreant came on a motorcycle, attacked her and fled. Police have registered a case and investigating the matter.
