Bhubaneswar: A wild bear roaming around Jamaghati village under Baunsuni Police station in Boudh district has triggered panic among the local residents. The bear was spotted near Bagha Nadi and paddy fields adjacent to the village, causing widespread fear and disrupting daily activities.
Villagers are afraid to venture out of their homes, and many have avoided going to the river for bathing. Farmers have stayed away from their fields, fearing an encounter with the bear. In an attempt to scare the bear away, locals gathered outside the village and shouted, which frightened the animal.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Forest Department staff reached the scene and are closely monitoring the bear’s movement. Efforts are underway to safely drive the bear back into the forest, restoring normalcy to the village.
