Bhadrak: Three young men robbed their landlord of cash and jewelry late Sunday night in the Chandbali police area of Odisha’s Bhadrak District.
The victims have been identified as Jaydev Rout and his wife, Sajani.
According to reports, Jaydev recently rented their home to three men who claimed to be working as security guards on the Bhadrak-Dhamra railway line.
Late Sunday night, the young men knocked on the door, asking Sajani to let them in. When she opened the door, they threatened the elderly couple with a knife and demanded all their money and jewelry.
Terrified, Jaydev and Sajani handed over valuables worth lakhs of rupees. The robbers then fled the scene on a bike.
The matter came to light after the elderly couple reported it to the police.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at their home and began their investigation but were unable to locate the suspects.
