Puri: Twelve coils of coir ropes for pulling of chariots during the upcoming annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings arrived in Puri today.
These ropes having a circumference of 8 inches having a length of 220 ft each have been supplied by Odisha Cooperative Coir Corporation (OCCC) after consecration at its Bira Pratappur project.
” The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had placed an order for 12 coils of ropes for chariot pulling. Each rope has a circumference of 8 inches and is 220 ft in length,” said an official of OCCC.
