Bhubaneswar: Visitors to Nandankanan Zoological Park can enjoy scenic beauty from the air as the much-awaited ropeway project was inaugurated by the Forest and Environment Minister Pradip Amat today.
Besides the Minister, MLA Suresh Routray and other senior officials took the first ride soon after the inauguration.
The ropeway service will be available from tomorrow for the visitors at a price of Rs 120 per head. Visitors will have to pay an additional amount for taking camera for photography, officials informed.
Visitors have to book special ticket for the ropeway ride at a special counter. The service will be available from 8 am to 4 pm daily excluding weekly holiday.
The ropeway will start from zoo premises and end at the Botanical garden crossing 626 meters length over the picturesque Kanjia lake, Nandankanan authorities said.
As many as 72 visitors can avail the ropeway facility at a time, authorities said.
The zoo authorities had signed an agreement with a Kolkata-based private organization -Damodar Ropeways Infra pvt Ltd 2021 for the construction, maintenance and operation.
